Our local farms are the foundation of our community, yet they’re drowning in senseless regulations and mandates that drive up costs and make it nearly impossible for our farmers to thrive. If we don’t do something soon, our family farms will disappear along with local jobs and resources.  

I have extensive experience advocating and lobbying for agriculture in both D.C. and Salem. Oregon’s “war on agriculture” hits my farm and affects my family just like many of you. I am living with the consequences of poor legislation and overreaching regulations. I have real-life knowledge of the unique needs of Oregon farmers and it is time our voice gets a seat at the table. 

We need to reopen water rights applications, push back against additional water regulations and restrictions, repeal Ag Overtime and continue to fight against other burdensome regulations and higher property taxes. 

I will advocate for water rights, push back against burdensome regulations, and support farmers’ rights to run their businesses as they see fit, without strict oversight from out-of-touch legislators. Overreaching labor laws and environmental regulations make it impossible for our farmers to operate.

It’s no secret that Oregon is failing its youth — test scores continue to plummet, and our education standards continue to decline with no signs of slowing down. The Department of Education has been preoccupied with micromanaging school districts with debilitating, blanket regulations while the financial stability of our schools crumble.  

Every district is different, every student is unique, and each family has their own needs. It’s time Oregon’s governing body recognizes that one-size-fits-all regulations hold students back. I support open enrollment, deregulating blanket curriculum requirements, and expanding CTE programs and vocational training for in-demand fields. We have the tools to set our students up for success and it is time we focus on preparing our students for the demands of the real world.  

We have all felt the pressure from the rising costs of everyday goods and services. Groceries, gas, rent; our affordability issues in Oregon are a direct result of decades of legislation from out-of-touch politicians. The affordability crisis needs to be addressed, and communities need to see their taxes supporting real improvements and needs within their communities.

 I support no tax on tips, eliminating the Death Tax, and I will work to end wasteful government spending that drives up the costs of our taxes. 

Salem has developed a nasty habit of solving their problems with tax dollars. The citizens of Oregon can barely afford to live while the Government continues to ask us to fork over more of our hard-earned cash as our communities continue to suffer. The State needs to prioritize maintenance and core functions by cutting back on costly pet projects and programs that benefit very few people. 

I will always fight for lower taxes and responsible spending that improves the quality of life for us all.
